Sixth Street Baptist Church was established in 1950 and incorporated in the State of Alabama in 1960. We are a member of the Southern Baptist Convention and Tallapoosa Baptist Association. With an average attendance of 275 in corporate worship and 220 in Sunday School, each age group is well represented from infants to senior citizens. We enjoy a blended service during Sunday morning worship with a full Praise Band and Choir. SSBC is a mission minded church with visions of growth. We currently own, debt free, 64 acres in Alexander City just off Highway 280 adjacent to the Community College with plans to build complete new facilities.

Alexander City is located in Central Alabama with a population around 16,000 and convenient access to Birmingham, Montgomery and other major cities. We are also home to beautiful Lake Martin for those who enjoy water sports, fishing, hiking and biking on trails, or simply enjoying the breath taking views and sunsets. Alexander City is a great place to raise children and has an excellent public school system, church-based schools, and a large group of home school programs.

SSBC is a family of believers dedicated to glorifying God.  The Church is living in a changing world and while the message of the Good News remains the same, we realize the methods of teaching and outreach must change if we are to be effective in furthering the Kingdom of Christ.
